World Robotics Championship 2022

MakeX is a robotics competition platform that promotes multidisciplinary learning within the fields of science and technology. It aims at building a world where STEAM education is highly appreciated and where young people are passionate about innovation by engaging them in exciting Robotics Competition, STEAM Carnival, etc.

As the core activity of MakeX, the namesake MakeX Robotics Competition provides exciting, challenging and high-level competitions in the spirit of creativity, teamwork, fun and sharing. It is committed to inspiring young people to learn Science (S), Technology (T), Engineering (E), Art (A) and Mathematics (M) and apply such knowledge in solving real-world problems.

MakeX Starter

MakeX Starter is a multi-tasking competition program for elementary school students aged 6-13.

The competition integrates the automatic stage and the manual stage, which greatly enhances fun and participation experience of the competition.

MakeX Explorer

MakeX Explorer

MakeX Explorer is a confrontational competition program for elementary and junior high school students aged 8-15.

The competition requires the contestants to design and build robots from scratch, which systematically develops the contestants’ comprehensive abilities in robot design, mechanical construction, and programming.

MakeX Challenge

MakeX Challege

MakeX Challenge is a highly confrontational competition program for middle and vocational school students aged 11-18.

This program is very confrontational and enjoyable to watch, and the simple and easy-to-understand rules enhance the overall experience of participation and engagement.

As a contestant, can I register for the competition myself?
Contestants and mentors can use MakeX official website to register, fill in your details and expect a call from us for further information.
Is the competition restricted by age or by grade?
Contestants of 2022 MakeX Robotics Competition should meet the age requirement. MakeX Starter is a multitasking competition for young people of 6-13 years old. The 2022 theme of MakeX Starter is Zero Carbon.
Contestants of 2022 MakeX Robotics Competition should meet the age requirement. MakeX Starter is a multitasking competition for young people of 6-13 years old. The 2022 theme of MakeX Starter is Zero Carbon. MakeX Explorer is a multitasking competition for young people of 8-15 years old. MakeX Challenge is a confrontational competition for young people of 11-18 years old. The 2022 theme of MakeX Challenge is Energy Innovator. At the start of the season, contestants should be the enrolled students in the compulsory education stage (students from different education systems should meet the age requirement).
How to decide between the red team and blue team?
The alliance and red or blue side in the Qualification Round of the Smart Links will be generated by the system randomly. For the Championship Round of the Smart Links, the team will choose their alliance in the Alliance Selection, and the alliance can decide who is red or blue side on their own. The alliance and red or blue side in the Qualification Round of the Intelligent Innovator and Ultimate Warrior will be generated by the system randomly. For the Elimination Tournament of the Intelligent Innovator and Ultimate Warrior, the team will choose their alliance in the Alliance Selection.
How to register for this competition?
You can click on the register button and then fill in your details to participate in the competition.
Can new contestants have a program sample or robot sample for reference?
There are instructions for electrical kits in the competition guide but no robot sample for reference. MakeX encourages contestants to use their imagination and creativity to build their own robot!
Does each team have to prepare team uniforms or customize team belongings?
It’s not mandatory, but MakeX encourages teams to create a team culture. Relevant awards are set up for those teams with rich team decoration and team culture.
